The 17th edition of the International Short Film Festival Sleepwalkers (www.swff.ee)– a sub festival of the A Category Black Nights Film Festival – will run from 12th-16th November 2016. Held at the Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School in Tallinn, Estonia the festival brings audiences some of the very best short films from across the world whilst providing the industry an opportunity to network and see some of the best new works from the Baltics and beyond.

With four competitions, plus special programmes and retrospectives, Sleepwalkers are currently looking for the most exciting short films to be submitted to the festival. We’re looking for films from debut directors or veterans of the short film world. We’re looking for new films and we can also accept rough cuts for consideration. The festival is a sub-festival of the Black Nights Film Festival (www.poff.ee)

This year you can submit to the festival Reelport, and the festival charges no submission fees. Please note. Sleepwalkers DO NOT accept animation films. If you wish to submit an animation film, please submit to our sister festival ANIMATED DREAMS (www.anima.ee).

International Short Film Competition programme

• short and medium length (-45 min);

• film of any genre directed by film professional;

• premiered after 1 January, 2015;

• in original language with English subtitles or in English;

• screened in video or digital formats

International Student Film Competition programme

• short and medium length (-45 min);

• film of any genre directed by film/media student;

• premiered after 1 January, 2015;

• in original language with English subtitles or in English;

• screened in video or digital formats

National Short Film Competition Programme

• short and medium length (-45 min);

• film of any genre directed by film professional from Estonia;

• premiered after 1 January, 2016;

• in original language with English subtitles or in English;

• screened in video or digital formats

Baltic Sea Short Film Competition Programme

• short and medium length (-45 min);

• film of any genre directed by film professional from Baltic Sea region (Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, and Sweden);

• premiered after 1 January, 2015;

• in original language with English subtitles or in English;

• screened in video or digital formats
