International Short Film Festival Sleepwalkers relies greatly on the spirit and dedication of 25-30 volunteers (some from Tallinn University and others outside our house) each year. We look for volunteers who share our commitment to supporting short film genre. Volunteers are vital to all of the festival’s programmes and special events.

Volunteers are needed to assist in all areas of Sleepwalkers — from event photographers to special event assistants.

  1. Apply to Volunteer: The volunteer application generally opens in September-October for the upcoming festival in November. The application for 2016 is now open!
  2. Meet-and-Greet the Volunteers Department: When we review your application, we’ll email you to set up a call and discuss possibilities. Applying to volunteer does not guarantee you will be offered a role, we also consider alumni of our volunteers from previous years for the tasks needed.
  3. Receive an Assignment: When a volunteer’s interests and the Festival’s needs fit, volunteers are offered a volunteer assignment with a Festival Department, usually in October.
  4. Get Your Schedule/Assignment: Some tasks may have a more specific schedule, others are event based, be prepared to be flexible with your time.
  5. Learn, Check-In, and Festival! All volunteers come to check-in just before volunteering to get their Festival Credentials. In some cases volunteers may be required to attend training. Volunteers get to enjoy working their assigned shifts in-between attending events, seeing films, and (maybe) sleeping or sleepwalking (all options may apply as well).

If you’re ready for a one-of-a-kind experience and are ready to put in at least a week of your time for the festival, read on and apply to join us in BFM in November.

E-mail your CV and motivation letter (explaining why you want to be part of Sleepwalkers and what tasks would you consider performing) to siiri.haidma@poff.ee latest 17 October 2016.
